It has been a hot minute since I blogged!!! I’m almost embarrassed at the amount of time I’ve let pass. Well don’t worry, because 2013 has brought a fresh start. Not only can you check out my most recent work on my facebook fan page but I will try and post every other week here as well.
So first up on the blog I wanted to post something a little out of the norm. Its definitely not your typical canine, equine or feline. No, today I wanted to post about the monkeys of Silver Springs. Located close to Ocala this natural spring oasis has brought many a visitor here since the early 1900′s. Interestingly enough in the 1930′s they filmed six of the original Tarzan movies here. With those movies came famous Hollywood actors as well as monkeys who were needed for the film. Once the filming ended the monkeys were released into the wild where they have flourished ever since. You can observe this colony of rhesus monkeys by renting a kayak and floating down the river. I’m not going to lie, it was one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had. To be that close to a wild creature and just watch them is something I will never forget. And the pictures look like I traveled to a far away land, like Asia! Nope, I was about 2 hours away from my house. For all my Florida locals I highly encourage a day trip, and for all my non locals, I hope you enjoy the photos

So this is a little different then my usual puppy post. But I just couldn’t help myself. I want to shout it from the roof tops. I found good customer service AND great quality products all in one business!!! Now a days great customer service is hard to come by which is mind boggling to me since I believe it is a key element in a successful business. But much to my happiness Tito and I had a top notch experience with Mr. Chewy. Mr. Chewy is an online pet website delivering happiness and all the top natural brands to you and your pup. They are fast, efficient and competitively priced. I was so pleased with the communication from start to finish. The confirmation email, the shipment email, and the follow up email just to see how the whole experience was! Mr. Chewy, you made me and my Moster super happy. We will definitely be ordering from you again.
And even better if you order from Mr.Chewy and mention this code { PAWS9970} you will get 10% off your first order and they will make a $10 donation to Best Friends Animal Society. How cool?!
And because no blog post is complete without a photo I posted Tito on his thrown surrounded by the wonderful Mr Chewy products. His favorite is the Blue Buffalo Wilderness Turkey Jerky.

Happy Monday everyone! As promised I am bringing you Part Two of the Moose the Mastiff shoot. So last week you met the 200 lb. love. Well now I’d like you to meet Moose’s cousin of sorts. You see Bob and Jayne, Moose’s paw-rents, have a daughter named Beth. Beth just recently rescued Edison. He is a hound dog mix. Unlike Moose, Eddie takes a little longer to warm up to you. He is a little bit more of an observer then a participant. However, if you have a bag of treats in your pocket he will be your best friend
I couldn’t get enough of this guys soulful eyes and soft big ears. And then, just when I thought he couldn’t get any cuter, Edison picked up his toy and began to dance. Oh the smiles
Here are some of my favorite shots of Edison.
Meet Moose, the 200 lb. mastiff.I don’t think you realize how big 200 lbs of dog is until you are staring it in the face. Everything is just bigger. The face, the paws, the tail, the body, yet he walks around like it is nothing out of the ordinary. It makes me laugh because Bob and Jayne have completely “Moose-d” their life. Their suburban was a purchase out of necessity as their previous car couldn’t fit a Moose in the back seat. It’s a common sight to see a dish towel in the back of someones pocket which doubles as a drool rag. Yup this house has gone to the dog…..Or should I say Gone to the Moose. Here are some of my favorites from Moose’s session. And stay tuned next week as I’ll be introducing Moose’s cousin, Edison.

Dr. Tiffany Rimar is my vet. And she is a darn good one at that if I do say so myself. You see Tito started having seizures about a year ago. Typically the only option is to give a dog phenobarb for the rest of its life. Dr. Rimar is one of the few vets in the area who takes a more holistic approach to the treatment of your pet. Tito has a special diet of fresh meats, vegetables and grains, herbs and acupuncture. Yup I said it, Tito gets acupuncture. I believe this has helped him a lot. I am forever grateful for Dr. Rimar and recommend her to anyone. But in addition to her holistic veterinary skills she is also an amazing mom {of the four legged kind}. Kabuli is her canine kid. The bond they shared was super special. You see while Dr. Rimar was in vet school Kabuli entered her life as a lab dog. Dr. Rimar saw much more then that and decided to make her part of the family. Talk about a rags to riches story. This was a really fun session with everyone. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.

Just wanted to share a few pics of the first ever real sighting of Count Dracula. It’s very rare to see him out of his coffin, especially during the day but we were fortunate enough to spot him during one of his few outings. Just looking at these pictures might strike fear into your soul so heed this fair warning.
Hope everyone has a very Happy Howl-o-ween from me and Count Dracula-ah-ah-ah.

Dear Jake,
As long as I have lived in Pass-a-grille I have known you…..Well, not really known you, maybe more like “acquaintance” known you. But I do recall every other day seeing you go for your walks off leash with your mom and sister, Scout. I always wondered how you could be so well behaved. You knew your route and didn’t stray from that. And I loved it when our paths crossed you would come up to me and just lean on my legs. I’m not going to lie, there were a few times when I didn’t anticipate your full body weight against me and I would stumble backwards. And then, it happened. I received news that your kidneys were failing. Jake, I am so sorry that this happened, and I wish I could’ve taken the pain away from you. I’m sure your mommies felt the same way. We all just wanted the ol Jake back. Well, that wasn’t how it ended. I’m still missing you. I’m still wishing you back. But I’m glad you are safe, pain free, and up in doggie Heaven. You left a huge impression on me as well as everyone in the “grille”. Such a beautiful soul.Lots of love to you. And lots of love to your family.xo
